This is dependant on the test, upon booking you will receive a questionnaire specific to your test which will provide all the necessary information. Put simply V̇O2max and lactate profile tests should be prepared for as if they were a short race or competitive game – 24-48hrs relative rest beforehand and well fuelled and hydrated. Metabolic Efficiency exercise tests and Resting Metabolic Rate tests must be completed fasted (12hours), rested and hydrated (only water in 12 hours leading up to test).
If re-testing in the future to monitor progress is something that appeals to you, it is worthwhile replicating the pre-test conditions. Therefore, make a note of your training program, nutrition, rest, recovery and hydration in the week prior to testing.
