What is the scope of practice of a Sports Therapist?

A Sports Therapist is a practitioner who specialises in all aspects of soft tissue injuries and issue.  Soft tissue would be considered to include muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.  Whilst not exclusively working with sports people, they treat pain and injury through hand-on treatment and exercise rehabilitation.  A Sports Therapist, unlike a Physiotherapist will not manipulate the skeletal system.  Instead modalities of treatment include strengthening exercises, deep tissue massage, muscles energy techniques, trigger point therapy and PNF stretching.
